Selecting text in Pages 6.0?

I don't use Pages often. I just discovered today that the command key no longer allows me to select multiple objects or lines of text in various places throughout a document. Using Pages 6.0 on Sierra 10.12.

Am I missing something, or this is feature no longer available in Pages?
