I am selling my M1 Mac Mini 16gb/512gb, Monterey 12.6.3. I want to do all the proper things to totally get rid of all my data, programs, and traces before handing it over. I have read through this info:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201065

I am a little confused about the 9 steps. I was under impression that all I need to do is use Erase All Content and Settings. Am I wrong?

"If you're using macOS Monterey or later on a Mac with Apple silicon or a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip, use Erase All Content and Settings instead of the remaining steps in this article. For any other Mac or macOS, continue to step 3."

You have an Apple Silicon Mac, therefore you should use the Erase All Content and Settings. I always double check my iCloud account to make sure the device has been removed from my iCloud account as well.

I used a search engine to find what I needed to do and read so many links and was getting confused before reading that link above that when I got the right answer I somehow did not see what was right in front of my eyes. :D Thank you.

OP:

If you DO use the "erase all content and settings", could you come back and give us a report as to how it went?

What do you see when you're done?
I'll -guess- it's the "initial startup screen" (choose your language) all over again?
