I have a late 2007 MacBook Pro (Santa Rosa) 2.2Ghz, 2GB Ram, 120GB HDD.

Beautiful machine, runs perfectly never had problems. But i'm starting to feel like its getting old, plus I mainly use it for interent, word processing, and occasionally for Photoshop.

I'm wondering if a newer MacBook would better suit my needs? Would I be able to sell this for enough money and not have to but much into buying a MacBook??

OR am I just being stupid?

I can see why you're tempted, its a great computer and while I can see the logic in waiting for arrandale/clarksfield which are due out next year, I myself didn't wait.

I basically had a similar machine and when the unibody MBPs came out in october, I sold my then current MBP and got a unibody model. I noticed about (if memory serves me) about a 15-20% increase in performance because of the faster clock speed, DDR3, and faster FSB (never mind the better GPU).

Its you're money and its true a much better CPU is due out next year, if you don't want to wait, then the current crop of MBPs are a great choice.
