I think I could get between $800-$900 for my 13" MBP (2.26 C2D, 2GB, Snow Leopard). This means I would have to add about $1,000 for the i7 15" (after student discount).

I'll be getting upgrades all around, only some actually NEEDED. Could I survive with my MBP now? Definitely. Do I still want to upgrade? Yes.

Talk me into/out of it. BTW, being that I don't bring it out of my house more than once a month usually, the 17" is still a possibility. Thanks all!

Don't sell your 13. Keep it, and buy a 27" iMac. You still have a laptop when you need to take it out (once a month). And you should have a faster machine than the 17".
