As my graphics are about to die, I think it a good time to sell it, its a good selling point where theres a new logic board in a computer. As i'm going into high school I would like a more reliable computer you can say. Im deciding on a Mid-2014 15" with dedicated graphics with AppleCare this time or a Mid-2015 15" Macbook Pro, Brand New, with dedicated graphics and AppleCare.

What do you guys think?

What's your selling strategy here? Will you disclose the fact that your "graphics are about to die" to the prospective buyer? Or, do you plan just to pawn the problem off on some unsuspecting rube?

When I say that, I mean that there's a recall on the navidia graphics card. And they will probably replace it. Selling it with a new logicboard from Apple is a good selling point.

Is there issues with your graphics card that grants you for replacement or are you waiting for it to fail?

Yes! i'm in iMovie exporting a project, and the computer gets extremely laggy and some video distortion and had experienced some video scrambling when I was viewing a Movie through Quicktime. My Computer always restarts unexpectedly when logging into my encrypted data for some reason. I've gotten a black screen suddenly for some reason.

...and you are planning to dump this.. I hope you list all these issues before you sell it.

As I explained the logicboard will most likely be replaced by Apple because the navidia graphics card recall from Apple. Please read other comments before.

Do you think it's wise to get a used Mid 2014 Model? It's cheaper, and I prefer the older trackpad.

There's nothing else different really other than the trackpad and extra hour of battery and SSD speed.

You wouldn't go wrong with the mid-2014 in fairness.

Save some cash and buy 2014 version then when Skylake comes out (whenever next year) you can sell 2014 and purchase Skylake version.
