Currently own:

24" 3.06 imac
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS with 512MB memory
UPGRADES: 4gb ram / 650 gb HD

Bought it for a great price. Now apple is knocking on my door again. I also have a 13" mbp which I was going to get an external monitor for, but now the new iMacs eliminate that need. Are the graphics cards comparable to the new 27" models?

Please Help!!

Thanks.

yeah get an external

Get an external, you'll be much happier.

Why? The op is going to get a 27" iMac so the screen is going to look better than anything else out there

honestly though op if you really want to make the upgrade get the core i7 quad. Otherwise I would just suggest keepin what you got.

Why would you get An iMac to use as a monitor to turn your laptop into a desktop when the iMac is a desktop and it's much more powerful than the mbp
