I'm planning to move from California to New York later this year and I'm wondering if I should sell my Mac Pro setup and get a Mac Book Pro. My tower is around 4 years old and I do a lot of video editing and some graphics work. I also have two 20" monitors.
I don't want to take a lot of stuff with me, so I'm thinking of getting a laptop. Don't think I will be doing much traveling with it, but I'd like to have something to take into the city.
I'd also like your thoughts on getting the high end 17" laptop or 15" with an extra monitor.
Thanks!

If you're going to do HD video editing, you may want the external monitor, so you can run resolutions higher than 1920x1200 (to edit 1080p video), along with the 15 inch pro. However, if you don't need that, or feel you could get by, why not go for the 17 inch pro so you don't need to carry anything else with you?

I agree.:apple:

I would get a 17" MBP, or if you want more portability, the 15" MBP with hi-res screen seems like a great option as well.
