a buddy of mine offered me 499 plus tax for my 3g iPhone, if I did that, would I be able to walk in and buy a NEW 3g iPhone?
 
Yes, you can, but what size iPhone is it? Because a new 16gb iPhone will cost you 499 plus tax...
