Why do you have to remove the SIM card? As long as you wipe it clean shouldn't it be fine? I sold my 3G on ebay last year and left the SIM card in.

The question is why would you NOT remove it? It does contain personal information. If you're selling it may as well remove it. The new owner HAS to place their own SIM card in...at least if I was the owner I would.
