Knowing that version 2 of the rMBP is due to be released in June 2013, my plan is to buy that one for the performance enhancement. My current rMBP is great, but the performance could certainly be smoother.

I have the 512GB drive, 16GB RAM, 2.7ghz model.

What do you think I could get for it, considering it will be a year-old model? 50% of the original price? 70%?

I'm not familiar with Apple resale prices, but I'm guessing I'd be able to sell it and get some cash back, yes?

Apple has huge resell prices in general - you can easily sell that Macbook at 70% of new value. Do try to do it before the date of WWDC is announced, because that will lower your resale value by a bit.

Generally, I can sell my Apple products at 80% new value after a year, but I take very good care of my stuff.

I've sold apple products that are the current revision for 50 to 100 dollars off the refurbished price almost instantly, every time. More like 85-90%. Just make it cheaper than refurbished and sell it before the new one comes out.
