I decided to ebay an extra iphone i was able to order. I shipped it without the sim card.. When the person who bought it tried to activate it, it said it needs the sim card for my number.

Is my phone going to be deactivated when I ship him the sim and he activates it?

Please help if anyone has done this.

All he needs to do is go to his carrier, get a new sim and activate it. Pretty sure he doesn't need your sim.

He wants your number?

Tell him to get his own Sim card from his carrier. Do not send yours.

Edit: It looks like you should activate the phone before selling it and then take out your Sim and use it in another phone or don't use it at all. The buyer should then use his own Sim.
