I am going to be selling my 16g touch this week and wanted to know how I remove all my personal info from it? It is registered in my name and I want it blank so that nobody has my personal info. Please help.

Restore your iPod it will wipe all your details

This is surprisingly not true.

This Engadget Article explains.

For complete peace of mind for your data use:

Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

This method wipes the actual flash drive completely, leaving only the firmware in tact.
'Restoring' just re-flashes the flash drive with a new copy of Apple's iPod firmware and apparently leaves the data in tact.

Hey, sorry for not clarifying fully.
You complete this process on the iPod touch itself

Thanks. I will do that and will be selling for about $225 or so for the 16gb with about two hours use. Has one tiny dent on the back case but ZERO scratches and has the iwrap protective cover on it. Is this a good price?

Sounds like a pretty good price to me.

I thought it was fair. It still has the box (lennon on the cover) all paperwork, and unopened little white package with the headphones and stand in it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the prices of the Touch drop a bit? I don't think the new iPhone prices are subsidized at all, and I'd think a new 16 GB touch should be no more than 299 - and half that for a used one...

FYI, let's keep this thread on target.

Selling an iPod, how do I wipe it for security purposes?

Anything else regarding it's price borders on what should be a FEELER thread, and those belong in the Marketplace Forum (which the OP isn't eligible for).
