I'm getting ready to sell my 4s and after reading threads on this forum it was suggested to remove the sim card before selling. I did so and also did an "Erase all content and Settings" Reset. When booting up I get a "Please insert a SIM card".
Is something wrong or should I have left the SIM in?

Thanks.

I keep getting "Please intert a sim card - Try again". Looks like I can't activate this phone without a sim card.

Well, if you are selling an AT&T iPhone 4S, you would want the other end to have a SIM card for AT&T, so they can activate the iPhone. Just include the tray with the phone when you sell.

Agreed. I'm just looking at it from a buyers stand point. No way to verify that the phone works or check the IMEI in the state that it's in. Could I just set it up with my old sim card and then take it out at the time of sale?
