Selling an iPhone on CL...

I'm selling my 5S on craigslist and have had a few people ask for the IMEI # for verification (understanably so). If I provide it to them, is there anything that someone can do with that number that would cause my phone to not work or end up screwing me up if they are a trying to be a jerk? :confused:
 
I always get that request every time I ebay my iPhones but refuse to give out that information. It's quite pointless as verifying that an iPhone is unlocked on some websites that provide unlocking service returns a "locked" status just to get you to use their service and I've already provided a "Congrats, your iPhone has been unlocked" screenshot. Also pointless as anybody can file a not as described claim if it's in fact locked, blacklisted or has bad ESN.
