A relative wants to buy my iPad since I'm getting the iPad 2. I was planning on selling it to gazelle, but she will give me the same price. I have the unlimited data plan, and I haven't received my iPad 2 yet. I've read conflicting information: some say keep the sim because it's tied to the unlimited data plan, and others say to just call at&t and have them transfer the plan to your new iPad (and new sim).

Instead of waiting for my iPad 2 to show up in a few weeks, I would like to go ahead and sell the iPad to her with the original sim, erase all of the data and info, set it up as a new iPad for her and then transfer my unlimited plan to my new iPad 2 when it gets here. Can I do this? If so, do I need to have info like the IMEI number when I call to transfer? If not, can she get a sim like this

And use it in the iPad?

Thanks for any info.

Wow, gazelle, no thanks.... never heard of that site but wow is it a rip.

By the way, isn't the new iPad 2 using the smaller microSIM card while the original iPad uses the standard size SIM card?

Yea, they totally ripped me off this week by giving me $550 for my 64GB 3G iPad, when no one on craigslist would even give me $500.

Keep livin' in fear buddy. You'll be old in no time.

No. They are the exact same size. I took the old one out of my original iPad and put it in my new iPad 2 with no problems. Now I can sell my original iPad on CraigsList and offer a brand-new sim installed with it as well.

That's the same quote that I got from Gazelle. They're a good company. I've sold stuff to them, and it was very easy and quick. :)

Kinda crazy isn't it? I'd love to know where they're selling these things at a profit. I tried selling mine on MR marketplace for $550 and then on craigslist in NYC…8 million people and not a bite. Even on ebay they're a tough sell at $500. Gazelle must be shipping them overseas or something.

I got my quote after the iPad 2 went on sale. I don't know how they make money. It must be overseas like you said. It's great to not have to hassle with eBay or craigslist.
