Hey guys,

I have a 16GB 3G and am selling it to get a 3GS. I have a few small problems which never really bothered me, such as slanted sometimes non responsive sleep button, dust under the screen, and freezing. The phone has never been replaced, and looks excellent. I was planning on exchanging it tomorrow for a, I guess, refurb from the Genius Bar. Which would go better on ebay? A 6 month old original 3G, or a one day Refurb from Apple? Thanks

It depends on what Baseband you have on your current iPhone 3G.

If you have not upgraded to OS 2.2.1 (5H11) with Baseband / Modem: 02.30.03, your phone can be software unlocked using Yellowsn0w and may be worth more than a fresh refurbished iPhone 3G that is Carrier locked.

Check the Craigs list / eBay market first before you upgrade to OS 3.0

I have 2.2.1 and will put in the auction I will put either one on 2.2.1 or 3.0. How can I wipe it out without a sim? Since I'm sure Apple with take out my sim and put it in the 3GS

So refurb is better than my current used one? Also, which one should I specify on ebay? New, Never Opened, Refurbished, or Used? Thanks!
