Should I just leave my iPhone at iOS4.x if I want to sell it or can people still unlock it if I upgrade to iOS5? I don't really need to upgrade immediately, as I'm getting a 4S on Friday, but I thought it might be fun to check out tonight.

I would keep it as it is.
I had my iPhone 4 on 1.59.00 and sold it. Before shipping, I decided to update it while preserving the baseband. Something messed up and I got stuck in a boot loop. My only way out was to do a clean restore. $125 mistake.
