I have an Iphone 3g and a Iphone first generation that I would like to sell.

My question is - I did erase all settings and content on both phones and I get the "connect usb" welcome screen just like when it was new but what does someone buying the phone have to worry about? Can they just activate the phone, or do they have to get a new SIM or how does that work??

I don't really want to jailbreak or unlock the phone - and I really liked the iphones cept I am getting a phone through work now.

Thank you,

JDT

Sim

Any idea if they have to buy the SIM or can they just get a new one free from the AT&T store?

Otherwise they could probably just buy one of those off ebay possibly

selling

I am not sure- pretty sure I can't sell it here so just wanting to know what I could tell a buyer about what they would have to do, or options.

Put them on Craigslist and they'll be gone in a day.
Where do you live by the way? once again if you don't mind.
* Wildcowboy, what's the problem?

your iphone is locked, make sure you clearly state to the buyer that the phone is locked and that they need to activate it with at&t and get a 2 year plan for the phone to work, unless they can unlock it themselves, then they can put in any sim they want and use the phone.

OP, I've sold one v1 iPhone on CL and another on EB, and I kept it simple; did a restore on both and removed the SIM card on both, and sold them as Locked to AT&T, and was very explicit about no JB and no SIM card, CL sold for $475 and EB sold for $400. Keep it simple...:p
