I'm selling my 2008 Macbook Pro as soon as the 2011 Macbook Pros are released. Whole, it will get around $800. If I take it apart, it seems that I can make a lot more money by selling it in pieces - perhaps enough to actually cover the costs of the new Macbook Pro. Does anyone know how much I can make? I'll be taking it down to the individual parts.

Well that depends on the condition of the laptop itself, are there any defects to it? Yea you can get more if you split it up, but some of those parts are hard to sell (think individual fans, bottom shell etc) compared to the whole package.

Functionally, the computer is perfect. There are a few small scratches on the bottom and a couple on the sides, along with a small dent on the top of the notebook, but other than that the screen and components are sound.
