Since i just got a 2012 macbook, i was going to sell my 09 on ebay (like i have done before.) I have an academic copy of lightroom 1 with a non-academic upgrade to lightroom 3. I have obtained a full non-upgrade/non-academic copy of lightroom 4 for my new 2012 macbook.

Can i include the academic version and the upgrade with my macbook pro when selling it? is that technically illegal? i think academic versions are non-transferrable. right?

sorry that this doenst have much to do with this forum.

Technically, it'd be illegal to literally sell the app. However, all you're doing is selling the laptop with the added bonus of those apps. ;)

As long as you don't sell the app by it self I think you should not have any trouble. Its just being sold as an add-on.
