Hi Everyone,

I have had my 3GS for almost 3 years now. I upgraded to a 4S this afternoon and would like to sell my 3GS.

My question revolves around it being locked or unlocked.

I bought the phone from an Apple store, I never jailbroke it, never did anything but use it. My contract ended almost a year ago so I am no longer on a contract. Is my phone "unlocked" because I fulfilled my 2 year contract?

I see a lot of ads stating that people are selling their iPhones unlocked and I don't know if I can say this in my ad or not.

Sorry for the dumb question...I just don't get this whole locked vs unlocked vs jailbroken thing. Thanks.

Locked means it will only work with a certain carrier. See Jordan's post above.

Thanks guys.

Would my phone be more valuable if I unlocked it or should I leave it alone?
