Hi, I currently have the iMac 24" and want to upgrade to the new iMac 27", when I sell the old iMac, how do I wipe everything out so the next user can have their 'new' mac?

Thanks

Put in the old iMac's install disk then do a fresh full install on it some like to do a secure erase while formatting the drive once completed don't let the system restart to get to the setup screen just shut it off. When the new owner turns it on it will be just like it came from the factory ie. they have to do the initial setup as if new.

I would insert the installer disk, use Disk Utility to perform a secure erase and replace everything on the hard drive with 0's (so you're data can never be required because it's not there anymore).

I have the Snow Leopard 10.6 installed, if I put in the Mac OS X 10.4 installer Disc will it erase the 10.6?
