Selling my iPhone 4. Need to unlock and wipe it. 4.0 firmware 01.59.00 BB

I am getting a new 4S tomorrow. Selling my old 4 to help with the costs.

Currently running the original 4.0 firmware as well as the original 01.59.00 baseband.

Phone is currently jailbroken.

Never bothered to unlock the phone because I use AT&T and never had to.

Can I please get the easiest unlock method to get that out of the way?

Also need to clear the phone of all personal data and such what is the easiest way to do this without messing up my firmware and baseband?

Cydia is showing blobs for all of the firmwares but how can I check to be 100% sure which ones I have?

Edit: Checked tinyumbrella it shows I have SHSH blobs for: 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.2b3, 4.3b2, and 4.3b3

I have the same issue. Here are your options.

1. You COULD restore using your blobs to the FW version currently installed on your iphone. Might take some time.
2. If you click "erase and reset all settings" on your iphone it "should" do what you want. However it has been mentioned that this causes you to have to reconnect to itunes and restore.... So this is NOT what I am going to do.
3. Create a new itunes account on your iphone and select the no payment account (ie no credit card option). Then connect your iphone to another computer (not the one you normally back up to) and it should say something like "you havent connected this before all your stuff will be deleted etc... - set up as a new phone using the itunes account you just created This should do what you want to do and no firmware will be changed.

I am leaning towards the latter.... seems like less time and trouble.

do not do step 2 what ever you do! never reset and erase in settings a jb Iphone it will send it will crash the device. if you are jb re jb using redsnow or snowbreexe tutorials on Iclarified. not sure witch firmware you have kisted I'd go with. jb isn't worth allot preserving the baseband is. there are tutorials on Iclarified. what ever you do don't do this! ;) actually all above will cause you to loose your baseband as well.
honestly I think it's best to ask the buyer what they want.

Have a buyer setup for tomorrow morning after I buy my 4S.

Any legit help is appreciated =)
 
Ok just wanted confirmation this was the right thing to do.

What about unlocking? Do this before or after or does it even matter?
 
Forgot my brother had borrowed my laptop so I currently do not have another PC to sync up the phone with itunes other than my main PC.

Any other way I can wipe all of my personal data?

I have this guy waiting to buy can't sell until it is ready!

How much are you getting from him for your iphone4?
 
You better tell your brother to return it pronto. You need a computer to keep your bb with either pwnage or snowbreeze.
Best unlock method:
D/l 4.2.1 ipsw, create custom ipsw in pwnage/snowbreeze, run tiny umbrella, insert inactive at&t sim, install ipsw in itunes and unlock via ultrasnow on cydia.

I'm in the same boat (sold JB phone and want to preserve FW and BB). The "fake out" itunes method sounds logical and should simply clean the phone and leave the firmware untouched, can anyone confirm that they have done this and it has worked for them?

Ended up restoring to 4.0.1 with my saved blobs.

This returned phone to normal.

Then I jailbroke via jailbreakme.com

Unlocked with ultrasn0w and now about to deliver phone to buyer.

$400 cash money.

Please let the buyer know he should not update the phone because he will lose the unlock.
