I have a guy who wants to buy my wife's iPhone 3g from craigslist.

I have a couple of quick questions before I meet with him.

Will the iPhone work without the Sim card so he can check it out to make sure it works? Obviously wouldn't be able to make any calls without it. Or do I need to keep it in while he checks it out?

Does he get a Sim card from Apple or AT&T?

He gets a SIM from at&t (or T-Mo if he's going to do that voodoo). I'd remove the SIM and do a restore on it and he can see that it is just like it was out of the box when you bought it.

So I remove the Sim first and then do the restore?

do I even need a Sim in it when I show it to him?

If you remove the SIM and then restore you won't be able to demonstrate any of the functions of the phone. You can restore, then take the SIM out after the phone has re-activated. Then you can demonstrate phone functions.

Hope this helps!
