Selling officially unlocked 3G, what to do?

Am planning to sell my offically unlocked (o2 in the UK). What do I do to it before I sell? If I erase it or restore it will it lose the unlock? Or once it is unlock will it stay unlocked despite what you do with it?

If its factory unlocked, than restoring it will not effect the unlock. Its unlocked for good. If its jailbroken, thats another story.
