I posted that I put my phones up on CL and got a massive response. Someone then posted that Amazon was giving over $300 per phone.

I checked and its $328 for a perfect condition iPhone 4 16GB Black.

My wife's is in perfect condition, as is my employee's, and mine was not but dropped it last night and broke the glass. Apple replaced it today so now its in perfect condition :)

I'm wary of anything where I send something in and wait for someone else's opinion on its condition.

I was thinking of doing this with 2 of my family members' 3GS's. Would be nice to hear if anyone has experience with this!

I did it with my 3GS last year and will do it with my 4 this year. Worked out great. Very simple process. :)

But you can get way more money selling it on eBay or even craiglist plus remember amazon gives you a gift card

I'm seeing $301 for a like new 32GB iPhone 4 and that's just Amazon store credit.

I thought about doing this as well but the "payment" is actually a credit to your Amazon account to use towards future purchases.

This is the link.

Right, which is why I'm going with apple credit instead.

Dunno. I filled out Amazon's and Apples for my 3GS and got the exact same offer. So that works for me. But good question. Try the forms for yours and see.

Apple offered me 200 for my iPhone 4 and Amazon offered 301.

That being said, I can't get a 4s with amazon credit, so poop.

Well, there's always christmas presents for folks.

This is true...I do buy a lot of things from Amazon. I wish they also bought back MacBooks. I have a 2008 15" MBP I need to sell. Apple is only giving $365 back for it. I know I could get at least $500 for it.

I'm planning on sending them my 3gs, they quoted 175 in credit. I'm just planning on canceling a couple of game preorders I have in for my husbands x-mas, then preordering through Amazon instead. Problem solved.

I haven't traded in any electronics with Amazon, only books, but those went flawlessly. I have no paranoia over Amazon screwing me over or anything. If they offer less, I can elect to have it returned to me at no charge. I've done that with a book and it went flawlessly as well.

What I like it no hassle they return the phone if you don't agree with the assessment.

Amazon is offering $122.50 for the 3G (yes, I have a very old phone). This is twice as much as Apple offers and eliminates the hassle of having to list on ebay.. thanks for the idea, I hadn't considered Amazon before! :)
