I recently did an erase and install of Tiger on an old eMac I keep around. After installing the OS and updates, my dock became semi-transparent when I changed the background. I haven't noticed this happen on other Macs I have when they were on Tiger, but I also haven't used that particular background. Does anyone know what could cause that to happen? I don't have any 3rd party apps that would affect the Dock. I am hesitant to change the background, because I like the semi-opaque Dock, and don't want it to go back to grey.

It's just the background. You just haven't noticed it before with the other backgrounds, I suppose. But my dock is semitransparent, too, and I'm pretty sure it always has been in Tiger.
