My iPad is sync'd with my office computer, but my songs are on my home Mac. I can email a song to myself, download it on the iPad's Mail app and open in either Quicktime or VLC; however, I don't see how I can send it to the iPad app. Is there a way to do this?

U can open and play via good reader not shure about vlc. But you can just authorize your work computer (u can authorize up to 5 computers) and then put ur music (from itunes) on cd's or a flash drive and then put into your iTunes on your work computer. It is much more practical than just opening files on a app.

I thought he could simply authorise his Mac at Home and move music onto the iPad there?
Maybe the iPad will need to be set to "manage music manually" on the work pc (iTunes) first.

Will that not work?

I'm pretty sure if regardless it will erase and sync because it goes by iTunes library not authorization. So do whatever but the way I'm saying will defiantly work
