This already played out before with a company.

Apple sued them out of existence.

Hacking the macOS to run on a PC is cool, but a violation of Apple license, and the DMCA.

Apple looks the other way when end users do it, so long as they are not selling anything, and trying to turn a profit.

Really, it's a support nightmare, as every OS update/upgrade can break the hacks. I highly doubt you're going to get even the basic level of support from anyone that can't figure out how to make images load on their own webpage, and you're got to be SOL when Apple closes them down.

We've been here before. If they only sell the hardware, there is nothing much Apple can do. The second they link to or otherwise facilitate any download, even as an aftersales service, they are done for.

The smartest thing to do is to concentrate on the hardware. They could even get their own custom UEFI installed as a popular board had on Insanelymac to simplify the hackintosh process.

Anyone else remember that glued up USB dongle with a disguised Chameleon on it, which sold for nearly $200 until they got rumbled and struggled to keep up with updates?

Was it that EFI-X thingy?

Yes. I think they even brought out a Pro or v2 model as well until somebody did a disassembly, iFixit style, and found nothing but a USB drive inside. I was heavily into hackintoshing then and knew immediately that it was nothing but a scam but the product had its firm believers who hung on to the bitter end until they couldn't get any more updates because the scammers who sold it couldn't fix the problems that Apple had caused with its updates, while the rest of Insanely.mac ploughed on ahead.
