Hi Guys,

Not sure where to post this. We have 4 Macs in the house all connected to the same wifi. Is there any software which will allow us to send instant messages between the computers, which would show as some kind of a pop up?

Thanks in advance.

Deepak

You would need to use some kind of messenger app. As far as i know, there is no direct way to send a message. You could use the new messages app on Mountain Lion, but you would need to create an account for each Mac.

I'm sure there is some terminal command to do it like in Windows. But I'm not that familiar with UNIX, so I don't know it off the top of my head.

edit: You could do as suggested above and just make four accounts for Messages - one for each Mac.

This is exactly what Bonjour messaging in Messages is for!
