Send myself iMessage from watch question

Hi.
I used to be able to use Siri on my Apple Watch and tell it to Send myself an iMessage. I do that so the message acts as a reminder.

but either with watchOS 6 or my new Apple Watch I have lost the ability to do that. When I try sending myself a message from my Apple Watch it Looks like it’s trying to send it by iMessage but then quickly changes to trying to send it as an SMS.

any suggestions on how if possible to remedy that?

Syncs across all devices and notifications show up.

I just use the Messages app - do this often to send URLs to myself so I can load websites on the watch

There is an app for that, called reminders. Tell Siri, “Remind me...”.

As others have mentioned, you might want to try doing this as a Reminder.. the Reminders app was built for exactly what you’re trying to do.
