Email has sent fine since I got my iPhone, both on WiFi and GRPS/EDGE.
But, recently it decided to get me the "cannot cannot to the mail server" message.
So, after doing some researching and trying various combinations, I found out that the only way to do it was to enter the O2 outgoing mail server settings, complete with username/password, to use on both wifi and EDGE (I have tried both smtp.o2.co.uk:25, and mail.o2.co.uk:25, and both send fine. The ":25" has to be there, and username is <>@o2.co.uk).
These appear to send fine over edge and wifi, but the emails NEVER get there. I've tried this over a couple of days. If I revert back to the only other method that works (my ISP's server: relay.plus.net:25, but NO username/password as it only sends if these are blank! And also the ":25" seems crucial, despite that port also being selected in the settings - and it only works over wifi, not edge), the emails get there immediately, every time, as they should. But of course I just want one mail server to use for both wifi and edge. The O2 method should work, and appears to send, but the email never gets there.
Can anyone help?
