hey guys my wifi stopped working on my iphone 3g. i called them up and we went thru a bunch of tech support and then they said they are going to send me a box to send my iphone back in. They said i will be getting a replacement unit. Does this mean its refurb or is it new? Does it come in a new iphone box (like my mbp when i got the unibody as a replacement) or like an att refurb box?

It will be a refurb for sure. You won't normally tell the difference though. The phone will be returned in the same brown box you send your one in to Apple. Inside the brown box is a small box the size on an iphone.

Hope that helps.

Hi Byeehaaw,

When you called about your 3G were you the original owner and/or have applecare?

did they charge you for a replacement or did you have apple care?

You should get a remanufactured phone, not a refurbished phone. Big difference.
Although, most people don't understand which is which. So you'll see most people say you get a refurb.

Well, Apple calls them refurbished, so I'll stick with that. Also, this thread is 3 years old. I'm thinking that the OP was taken care of long ago.

I would hope so. Three years would be quite a while to wait for a replacement! lol:D
