If I have Time Machine backups on my external HD, will I just be able to plug it into my new MBP and have the "same" one that I'm typing on right now? And does Time Machine backup all files? Including my iTunes music files, etc.?

It'll be completely transparent. You won't even know its a different computer. Everything will be exactly as it was the last time you backed up.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F138 Safari/525.20)

yes it's quite amazing for this and makes what would take hours normally only requires ~40min to do and is entirely automated after the initial setup. I too am expecting to receive a new replacement next week, good luck with your new machine!!!

oh that's a relief! thank you! i spent about an hour last night copying my itunes folder and all of my photos over to my ext. hd. i'm glad i'll be able to have everything the way it is :)
