Sending photo through e-mail failing

I have never seen this issue before but sending a picture from my Camera Roll results in a "negative response from g-mail" and the picture gets stuck in my outbox. I've tried sending it to another e-mail address, and have also deleted that e-mail account and added it again. Also have done a hard restart of the phone.

The e-mail from that email account works fine with all other incoming and outgoing mail.

How big is the photo? Panorama? If yes, that's a potentially big file - maybe bigger than GMail will accept. Just throwing guesses out there...

Sorry should have mentioned, iphone 4 and the photo is 1MB give or take.

I am getting this same error with regular e-mail replies now as well.
