Sending plain-text only e-mails

I want e-mails that I either compose from scratch or send in response to either a plain-text or HTML/rich-text e-mail to only send as plain-text. Most desktop e-mail software gives you the option to set whether you are transmitting plain-text or HTML or both, but I don't see any settings like that in the iPhone's e-mail settings. Is it possible to influence iPhone Mail's actions on this point?
