Sending text through Google Voice?

hi all, i have a 3Gs with Tmo data plan. i was wondering if there's an app or is there a way to set the messaging default using google voice?

right now i have create a shortcut on the home page, but i find that sending a text and trying to find a contact is a bit pain.

coming from MyTouch3G, i'm use to having a icon for google voice where i can use to send text or make calls.

any suggestions or ideas?
