Seperate preferences for two monitors

Hey there everyone. So I have a 2nd monitor hooked up to my imac. But this sucker is going, and until I can switch out the failing capacitors, it takes about 30 mins to turn on. So I'd like to leave it on, but I still want the imac screen to sleep. Do you think there is a way to set the energy pref for two separate monitors? Maybe by using pmset? I've never used pmset before, never had the need to.
