I have an iPhone 12 mini. Because of its very small size I have misplaced it twice. Is it possible for me to use my series 1 Apple Watch to give me notification alerts when separated from my iphone. If so then please guide me in setting up this feature.

Don’t know if this functionality is capable on the AW S1 but if it is, go to Find My, Devices, your iPhone 12 Mini and scroll down, you will see “Notify When Left Behind.” Turn it on if it’s there.
There’s also a third party app called “Phone Buddy” which I recommend. The stock Notify When Left Behind feature has been very unreliable, for me at least. I’m getting multi daily Left Behind alerts for my AirPods while they’re connected to my phone and in my ears. I’ve seen some reports of the Notify When Left Behind for the iPhone taking miles away to send a notification.
