I was wondering if there is any software that would allow me to do the following:

1. Press a keyboard shortcut and it would output (paste) a certain phrase. (Ex: I press command+option+u while renaming a file and "File_00001" is inserted.)

2. The next time I press this keyboard shortcut, it outputs a number 1 up from the previous. (Ex: I then press command+option+u while renaming a file and "File_00002" is inserted.)

Thanks so much for helping me out.

For renaming files, I use Name Mangler and I've heard good things about NameChanger.

I'm looking for something that's more "in the moment" (when I first import photos to my computer) rather than an "after the fact" software. This is because I place my images in random folders all throughout my computer and finding/collecting them all would be extremely tedious.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
