I have a Macbook Air M2 with a couple of months warranty left...been running Public Beta 15.0 (v5?) for awhile now (system says I'm running the latest beta). Recently noticed my external HDMI monitor crashes the system all the time, and the fingerprint sensor is totally dead...new fingerprints won't register etc.

If this is attributable to the beta then I can live with it until the public release of the final Sequoia, but if no one else has had issues I'm thinking bring it in while there's still warranty.

I guess just wondering if these are common issues with the beta? Haven't seen anything in searches on the topic.

Thx

Just tried running Diagnostics but that won't run due to the beta. I did mess with the finger sensor and briefly almost got it to recognize a finger (!) so the sensor isn't completely "dead". Warranty expires Oct 17 so hopefully the public release will arrive before then so I can see if it's a beta or hardware issue.

Another issue that points to Beta is the "9" key, which is part of my startup password, isn't recognized when starting up, but is once the machine is logged in using an external keyboard (the native 9 key wakes up after login).

Wacky

I am running 15.1 b2 and have had a few nightly crashes. This M1 Mac Studio has never crashed before. Beta crashes are not uncommon. Mine might be caused by beta software from Rogue Amoeba with "known" instabilities.
But since your MacBook Air is new, I would reinstall the shipping version to make sure it is sound. Getting any warranty issues resolved is always better earlier than later.

Yup thanks...am doing a Time Machine backup now then will reinstall from scratch. Cheers

Delighted to report that I was able to download Beta 6 just now and it appears to have resolved these issues...
