So i'm trying to find the serial number on a 30" Cinema, and for the life of me I can't find it. I looked on the apple support site and it says a sticker should be under where the cable goes in to the monitor, but there is no sticker there.

So either a) they forgot to tag my monitor (which will be fun to deal with when registering my display) or b) i'm taking crazy pills. I hope its b.

ok, I found what i think is the display SN on the box (starting with a "CY"). I'm not totally satisfied though; you would think the SN would have to be somewhere on the actual item. hmmmm.

Found it!

Well that was tricky. It was under the stand, which required a risky two handed manuever and a head lamp to tip over the heavy beast and verify it. Big fun.

Haha. Good one, apple.

I wish I could afford a 30" display so I could have the trouble of finding the S/N! :D
