What do the numbers in front of the week code mean? I see 9C738, 1C738, 9A738 and not sure what they mean. Anyone know? The 38 is the week but what do the first 3 digits represent?

The first number/letter also tell you how old it is I think and the rest of numbers are just random and are unique to your iPod.

Not too sure though.

I think the 7 represents 2007, because my ipod nano bought in 2006 starts 'YM6'

The letter may stand for the time of week it was made A early week B mid week C late week... just a guess. Mine is 1D738....
