Hi all.

Well I purchased 2 macbooks from Apple in October 07. I am planning to sell one and the purchaser is asking if the serial number will be under my name since I bought the item.

I bought the item through my credit card, and on the receipt it does say the serial number.

So, would the serial number be under my name since I am the original buyer? Or would the serial number will not be under no one's name? I am assuming since the serial number was on my original receipt.. then I believe that it will be under my name.

Thanks

You can typically just provide a copy of the original receipt with any of your credit card information blacked out to the new owner. If they're concerned about it, also provide a letter confirming transfer of ownership that references the serial number. They can always fax that stuff to Apple if necessary.
