Hi,

I noticed in some threads that people can tell when their iPads were manufactured, who manufactured the LCD, etc. Where do you guys get this info from?

My serial is DLXLNB - what can you guys tell me based on that.
iPad mini retina 32gb cellular.

Thanks.

Interesting site. My retina Mini:

Production week: 45 (November)
Model introduced: 2013
Capacity: 32GB
Memory - flavour: xx
Factory: DL (China - Foxconn)

Production week: 48 (December)
Model introduced: 2013
Capacity: 32GB
Memory - flavour: xx
Factory: DM (China - Foxconn)

Just realized you're all posting for the mini. Mine is the Air.

Any correlation between date and quality? Should I look for a December model rather than October or November?

Did apple change the format of their serial numbers? IIRC before you were able to tell the factory and week of production just by looking at the serial

Nice Name: iPad Mini Retina
Family name:
Group1: iPadMini
Group2:
Generation: 2
CPU speed: 1.3GHz
Screen size: 7.9 inch
Screen resolution: 2048x1536 pixels
Production year: 2013
Production week: 48 (December)
Model introduced: 2013
Capacity: 32GB
Memory - flavour: xx
Factory: DL (China - Foxconn)

My Air is DM (China - Foxconn) which we all know about.

However, my retina mini shows as F4 (China, Shanghai - Pegatron-Protek)

Anyone have information about this manufacturing site.

The mini screen is a little more subdued or easier on the eyes than those I've checked in the Apple store which were all Foxconn products. Different display panel perhaps?
