Anyone have any experience using either an FTDI or Prolific chip in a usb/serial converter under Mavericks? Wondering if it breaks.

Every time I search I get Ubuntu's Maverick instead

TIA,
Rob

If you have a current PL-2303 chipset that is supported with 10.7+, it will work fine with the 10.7/8 .dmg driver.

/dev/tty.usbserial

Is that the Prolific 10.5 driver?

I had a what may have been a cloned chip, and tried to uninstall and go back to my 1.4 driver, with no success at all. In fact you can't use the old installer once you've ever installed 1.5, even if you manually delete the cu. tty. files, the BOM, the receipt, etc. Keeps shooting error messages that a "newer" driver is installed.

But I assume I'll be able to reinstall 1.5, so if that works I'm good.

thanks,
Rob
