Is anyone using a Series 0 Apple Watch with the iPhone X, and have you noticed any issues with this combination?

My 38mm Series 0 Sport still works great with OS 4.1 and an iPhone 6 running 11.1.1.

I can’t think of any technical reason why it wouldn’t work just as well paired to an iPhone 8 or X running the same version of iOS. I do plan on upgrading to a Series 3 eventually, but I’m hoping to get another 6 months to a year out of it.

On the other hand a fast new iPhone will probably make me want a fast new Apple Watch. :)

Thanks,

Sean

You mean you are having issues since you paired it with an X, or since you updated or so 4.1? I would expect a few days of disminished performance and battery life as the watch re-syncs and indexes data. What kinds of issues are you having ?

From the posts I have read, there have been members who paired the first generation Apple Watch with the iPhone X And not had any issues. Although, I think the first generation Apple Watch has not seen any primary speed advantages with watchOS 4.1,
With some reporting average, to no real battery improvements either.

I’m using Series 0 with my X. It works fine but performance is slow. Battery seems to last just as long as when I first got the watch on launch day in 2015.

Thanks all. I have no complaints about my series 0 and 4.1. I plan to get the X by the end of the year.

Series 1 owner here with iPhone X.

I noticed improved battery life after setting phone and watch up as new when upgrading my phone from an iPhone 6 to X.

I had iCloud synch turned on for everything including health, so I kept all health data, activity, and achievements once I logged back into my iCloud account.

I only lost old iMessages.

I think setting up as new is the way to go...especially with older devices that may be carrying around a bunch of old settings and caches slowing things down.

I have a series 0 watch paired with my iPhone X. I haven't had any problems that I wasn't having with it paired to my 6s plus. The watch just really seems to be running slow with the latest watch os.
