This subject has probably been beaten to death. But with almost a year since the Series 3 was released, I would like a serious opinion.

Is there enough difference between the two to buy the Series 3 and sell your Series 1? If you made the change, would you do it again, was it worth it to you?

My sister has the Series 1. I haven't used it but from what I've seen, the upgrade is significant. Battery life and speed being the primary. But my sister got her Series 1 with gift cards last year and she's pretty happy with it - no intentions of updating. She exercises with it almost every day. I'll let others who actually own the 1 say more.

"Worth" is what YOU want from the Series 3 Apple Watch. The differences are significant,
Series 3 has the 50 m water resistance rating, brighter display, GPS, faster dual core Processor, ect.

The Series 3 Apple Watch just offers more in battery efficiency with the Processor and the heart sensor is improved as well.

I think the Series 3 is worth it, but others value features/things differently.

Same question! I'll jump on if can thanks!

Is the speed significant on day to day using do you find? It seems now less and less raw apps on being used, big developers are coming away from specific apps for watch and using more notifications.

I have series 1, would like the extra, but dont ever really use it without my iPhone, only ever at gym, and thats just for tracking workouts, maybe swim now and again, but nothing more.

There are a lot of ways to test the speed differences between Series 1 and Series 3. I would recommend using YouTube as a way to compare speed test comparisons for both Watches.

I don't use a lot of third-party applications, I primarily use the native applications on the Apple Watch. But even loading times, software updates and powering on the Apple Watch is significantly improved over the Series one Apple Watch.

I’ve had a series 0, series 1 and now series 3.

The jump from 0 to 1 is bigger than 1 to 3.

I didn’t intend getting a S3 but I found an S3 LTE for £280 on Facebook marketplace. I sold my S1 for £160, so upgrading cost me £120. At retail prices it would have cost £429 - 160 = 269.

I don’t think it would have been worth it at retail prices as the S1 wouldn’t have lost a huge amount of value keeping it an additional year. For £120 it was totally worth it.

Others have commented that there are perhaps less apps available today than earlier in the life of the watch. I’d agree, but the S3 makes the Apple apps, notifications and everything about using it more enjoyable.

Do you use the LTE/4G? Needs another plan whereas I wouldn't really use that tbh.

I would also sell me series 1 to fund the upgrade, not sure how much worth now though.

I use LTE with my phone. I just think it would be nice not to have to carry the phone everywhere I go.

Ok. I did it.

YES. It is worth the difference. I took the leap of faith and left my phone at home today.. SCARY.

Answered lots of texts, and a couple calls. The freedom away from the phone was wonderful!!!!
