These of you that own the stainless steel series 2 apple watch, will you be updating to Series 3?

they ruined the classic look of the SS Model with the Red dot on the crown now in the Series 3, the Built in barometer is certainly a great addition and something i would like to have but that is ultimately the only advantage i see in updating to the series 3 personally, a blood pressure sensor or perhaps another new type of a built in sensor would have made the decision more tempting but i wont be using the LTE feature and with WatchOS 4 around the corner to freshen things up on the watch i'm pretty certain im going to keep my series 2 SS till next year unless some

Yeah, I am debating but not sure it is worth it.

same here... i have the SS series 2 with link bracelet, might just sell only the watch and keep the bracelet, price diff wouldn’t be that much (thinking I could get at least $450 for it with applecare)

Whats is it in the Series 3 that is the motivating drive that is making you want to sell your Series 2 SS and upgrade to the Series 3?

Better performance, sensors, and the LTE is nice to have, specially when working out. No need for annoying arm straps or having the phone in the pocket (specially if you have a heavier / bulkier phone). It might also be an interesting change of pace to leave the phone at home once in a while.

I will not be. LTE doesn't interest me and it would also cost me an additional $10.00 monthly for a service I wouldn't require. Series 2 is still a great Apple Watch and will be for while.

By "sensors" you mean the newly added barometer sensor? thats the only new sensor as far as im concerned, the heart rate sensor is the exact same one thats in the Series 2, otherwise If LTE is something you want then the Series 3 is certainly the way to go for you.

the overall performance of the series 2 as far as running Apps is concerned is adequate for my personal use so the benefit of the new dual core processor in the series 3 does not warrant the cost of upgrade all by itself IMO

Apple should have added some sort of additional sensor to the Series 3 to create a more complete array of sensors geared towards health improvement

Yeah, barometer was the sensor I was thinking about. Anything gives more accurate readings is a plus in my book.

I think any performance increases on the AW will be fairly noticeable even coming from a Series 2 (didn’t they say like 70% faster in the keynote?)

Siri lags quite a bit when doing almost anything (on S3 she will talk back like on the phone), loading the Homekit app takes forver as well as apps like AnyList (super useful for grocery shopping).

I don’t really plan on using LTE that much, not a big fan of the extra $10 AT&T would get from me. But if I can add / remove it from the plan easily, I could only pay the $10 when I know I’ll need it.

So, if the upgrade cost is low enough and you get the latest and greatest, why not upgrade?

Undecided right now and trying to justify why I really need LTE since my phone is always with me. Though it's a nice amenity to have to untie me from that obligation.

I returned my series 3 non LTE. Compared it to my wife’s series 2. No difference in performance with 2 exceptions.

Faster boot time from cold.
Faster transfer of purchased songs from my computer.

Everything else, including heartrate were the same.

The rep told me they will be the same for the applications.
My series 1 was almost as fast, for anything meaningful. A nanosecond.

So the lauded processor speed adds no real value.

How often do you boot up?

I was trying to find a convincing reason to upgrade but after watching a couple of YouTube videos showing app launches of series 2 vs 3, the difference wasn’t as big as some would suggest. Sticking with the 2 series and we’ll see what Apple has in store for gen 4.

I had a Aluminum S2 and upgraded to Aluminum S3 LTE, the speed wasn't a big difference to me and how I use the watch on a daily basis. I then came across a great deal for a SBSS S2 in excellent condition, so I returned the S3. Very happy with how the SBSS looks, my first SS model.

Recent events in Las Vegas made me think hard about the Series 3 GPS only I bought my wife. I elected to return it (within the window thank god) for a order for a Series 3+LTE so she has another option to reach me/others for emergency help if she ends up in a bad situation and separated from her phone.....

Piece of mind is worth a lot more than $10/month for me....

There’s a massive jump in speed between series 0, 2 and 3. I don’t understand people who return the Series 3 for a 2. Even if you don’t use LTE, the series 3 is so much smoother, so much faster opening apps, so much slicker overall in terms of performance.

I actually upgraded from a SS S0 to SBSS S2. I don't need cellular capabilities on my watch anyway. Although I did get my wife a S3 aluminum for Christmas since her S0 is on it's last legs. Plus, she uses different fitness apps on her watch, much more so than me.

S2SS owner and added a S3SBSSLTE. Wanted the black watch this time. It is faster and smoother at times than my S2. I also use LTE 4-5 times per week on runs and motorcycle errands. Probably keep both as I also like the band compatibility with the SS, and ability to always have one charged up. Auto switching between watches connected to phone could not be more seamless.

Well, after the paranoia of scratching the screen of my aluminum AW3 Nike + edition (GPS only), I decided to bite the bullet and return it for a SBSS AW3 (GPS + Cellular). Of course I don’t really need the cellular feature, but the SBSS only comes in cellular and what is an extra $10/mo, right? Lol

You don't have to activate the cellular. And it would be closer to $13 to $15.

It took me three days to scratch the aluminum screen on my S3, you made the right call. I returned it for a SS.

In the two years I abused my S0SS no scratches.
