I woke up the other morning with a notification on my watch letting me know it was out of storage.

I looked at the Usage under the Watch App on my iPhone, and the math didn't add up. I went ahead and deleted all the music on my watch (500+ MB) and it was fine after that.

Now about 3-4 days later, I just checked my available storage, and I have only 236MB of free space on my watch. I'm not adding anything to the watch. No music, no pics, no apps.

When I look at the usage, and it says I've used 4.6GB of space, and then look at the handful of apps that are on my phone, there is no way it adds up to 4.6GB.

I'm wondering if this is an issue with WatchOS 6.1, or the new Apple Research app.

Anyone else seeing this?

I haven’t had an issue with running out of space but I see the same thing on my watch iPhone and iPad. The listed apps and their use age never comes even close to adding up to how much space is being used. I have no idea why.
